We the entire family of West Goalpara College welcome all of you to this pinner Higher Educational institute.
We believe education being the most patent index for inclusive growth. It has been a means for disadvantage groups to move out of their unfavourable economic position. It is the manifestation of love and my most cherished possession. Education drives away ignorance and through illumination it emboldens a man to a righteous thought and action. It empowers a woman and enlarges the horizon of her mind and energizes a society and enables people to earn their living with respect and praise. With that hope West Goalpara College was establish at a very interior place, Ambari of western part of Goalpara district in 1981. The main vision and mission of the College is to spread the light of education to these backward region.Here we try to impart quality education to our students, who come from various interior places and we try our best to build them as good human being and good citizen .This college has emerged as the only Higher Educational institution in this area in parting education to almost Two Thousand students from Goalpara ,Dhubri , Mancachar districts of Assam and some neighbouring part of West Bengal & Meghalaya. The two streams of Science and Arts with14 departments and excellent and experienced faculty make the College as one of the most prestigious institute in the entire Goalpara district. We try to maintain discipline, punctuality and regularity among our students. West Goalpara College endowed with progressive futuristic outlook aims continual growth in the quality of all academic activities with a sense of commitment to fully meet the expectations of the students, parents and society at large. Our priority is to gives preference not only to the students who excel in academic but each and every students who are best in their own field so that they can successfully build themselves in their future.
Our college cares for the individual development of each and every student. We follow “mentor system” under which each class is put into the multi-pronged web of a teacher. We accord prime importance to the behavioural discipline, moral integrity and cognitive developments of our students. Departments of Youth Welfare, NSS, Physical Education, Career Guidance Cell, Readers Forum, Red Cross Society, Red Ribbon Club and Centre for Women Empowerment offer integrated services for the multi –facetted developments of our students. Our teachers strive to teach not only academic programmes but also life skills needed for students’ self-development with highly resourceful faculty.
The College faces Two times NAAC assessment and get B and B+ which is the highest point in the entire district and preparing for Third Cycle NAAC inspection.
