THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS:
The Department of Economics was introduced at the first inception of the College. In the year 1997, the Department of Economics introduced a major course for the student of undergraduate level. The Department is functioning with four qualified faculty members.
NEED OF ECONOMICS:
Economics is essential because it helps us understand how individuals, businesses, and societies make choices about resource allocation. It provides valuable insights into how markets function, how policies impact economic outcomes, and how to address issues such as poverty, unemployment, and inequality. Economics helps us analyse and predict the consequences of different economic decisions, guiding individuals, businesses, and governments in making informed choices. It also provides a framework for understanding the complexities of global trade, finance, and Development.
Vision:
The vision of the economics Department is to foster a comprehensive understanding of economic principles and their real-world applications among students. The department strives to provide quality education, research opportunities, and a supportive learning environment that empowers students to make informed decisions, participate in public policy discourse and pursue successful careers in various fields related to economics

The Department promotes Institutional Social Responsibility through the institution, neighbourhood, community network, and student engagement, contributing to good citizenship, service orientation, and holistic development of students. The department is committed to social responsibility, by carrying out its mission

3. The department is conscious of its role in campus community connection and the well-being of its neighborhood and has initiated several community development activities.
